May 25-28, 2010, Kalamaki, Crete
The STI International Symposium 2010 is the annual event where representatives from the STI International Member organizations and others gather together to share research achievements and establish beneficial relationships with fellow researchers and developers in the progressing field of semantic technologies. The Symposium is a broaden version of our previous two Offsites with more invited talks, as well as extended poster and demo sessions providing participants with more interactive time focusing on sharing their impressive accomplishments of the past year with fellows and colleagues from around the world.
May 30, 2010, Aldemar Knossos Royal Village, Herssonisos, Crete
The goal of this workshop, being one of a series of events, is to investigate various aspects of semantic databases and data management in the large. We seek expert discussions and trans-disciplinary collaborations on issues such as semantic repositories, their virtualization and distribution, and interoperability with relational solutions, XML and others. Moreover, there is a need for advanced mechanisms to "move the logic closer to the data". Further relevant topics include the establishment of semantic data buses that bridge the gap between the data layer and the application layer, and the benchmarking of semantic data management solutions.
The workshop will feature a selection of short presentation, lots of open spaces for discussion and dedicated slots for the planning of joint activities and future collaborations around SemData. Being on invitation-only, interested parties may contact the organizing committee with a proposal for a presentation in alignment with the SemData research topics.
